We're just home after a mad dash to West Cork and just one overnight stay. After an early start and a full day's travelling, we were totally exhausted. What a balm for the soul the Seaview House Hotel turned out to be. From our first encounter with reception to our final checkout, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and the bed was really comfortable, and we had a great night's sleep (I never normally sleep well in hotels). The food is reason enough to visit. The ingredients are all locally sourced, and with such care and attention. We loved reading about the provenance of the meat, fish, vegetables etc. We had John Dory for dinner and the fish was beautifully cooked, as were the accompanying vegetables. Breakfast was also first class - special shout out to the rhubarb and yoghurt, ham and cheese. The whole vibe of the hotel is a home away from home. It's charmingly old-fashioned, and decorated beautifully. It's a bit like stepping into an Agatha Christie novel. That carries through to the bedrooms - and means it won't be for everyone, as the TV was pretty small and there's no aircon in the rooms (one of the reasons I loved it). It's quiet, genteel and pleasingly analogue, and because of that, it felt like a really welcome respite from the pace of life in the outside world. The only disappointment was that we did not have time to experience the seaweed baths, sauna and hot tub, which I'm sure would have been of high quality as well. We hope to return soon.

The check in was good. Front desk has been helpful. The breakfast staff lady this morning was pretty crabby. If you are French you get to sit where you want. American not so much. Not helpful at all this morning. The gentleman at breakfast when we were done was nice. Breakfast itself was not very good. Most of the selection was not hot just warm at best.

Frisch gepresster Orangensaft kostet 4€ extra! Self-cooking (!!) für Eierspeisen au?er Rührei. H?tte ich bei 19€ anderes erwartet. Sonntags geht man als Gast besser nicht zum Frühstück! Jeder Platz belegt und lange Schlangen am buffet. Das arme Personal kam mit dem auffüllen nicht nach. Es waren sehr viele ?nicht-Hotelg?ste“ zum Frühstück da

Innanzitutto i nostri ringraziamenti all'intero team di Castel Fragsburg. Tutti, indistintamente, hanno dimostrato un'altissimo orientamento all'accoglienza ed al benessere degli ospiti. Il livello di servizio che questo hotel offre è molto alto e l'atmosfera che vi regna parla di tradizione e di autenticità. E, naturalmente, un sentito ringraziamento al management ed alla proprietà, molto attenta e presente. Soprattutto non mancate un'esperienza gastronomica al ristorante stellato. Lo Chef. Egon Heiss, e la sua brigata di cucina, coadiuvati splendidamente dal giovane e dinamico team di sala, hanno reso speciale la cena di compleanno di mia moglie. E che dire del luogo? Privilegiato, rinfrescante e molto panoramico. Torneremo presto.
